In this one-day immersion we will learn how to tell a story using personal photos, photocopies, receipts, tickets, maps, newspaper clippings, magazine images, text, and anything that you can cut out and glue down into your two-dimensional work surface. Explore how content and meaning change as you shift and play with color, scale, texture and subject matter.

We will discuss positive and negative imagery, contrast, surface, focal point, and composition as each specifically relates to collage. The best way to maximize your time in this class is by bringing with you several items that are cut out and ready to use. You can also bring old drawings to recycle in new work, along with photocopies of favorite words and photos. All levels welcome.
